Did my first ride in Kyrgyzstan today. I just did a few hours to loosen up after the long flight. There’s a lot of traffic in town and the air quality here is not the best. But I did find some quiet gravel roads and there are lots of paths to explore in town. Highlight of ride was definitely the cute little donkey who ran beside me for a while.

Quiet roads can be found close to Bishkek

One headache upon arrival was bike related. While I was unpacking the bike I discovered a broken barrel adjuster on rear mech. It appears to have snapped where it inserts into the derailleur. The bike has a Ratio Technology 12 speed conversion. Ratio has been very responsive and is trying to get a replacement to me before race starts in a week. Shifting is mostly fine so I’m not going to waste energy stressing about it.

I saw several of these yellow trailers. I have no idea what they are selling, but I intend to find out.
